Hollywood Regency Glamour

What is Hollywood Regency?

The history: the style originated in Southern California in 1930 and remained in vogue through the sixties, is a playful modern combination of English and French Regency, Greek Revival and old Hollywood .

The elements: In addition to lucite, lacquer, mirrors, fur, plaster work, leather, lattice work and topiaries are common. The modern take on Hollywood Regency is a fusion of emblematic pieces and other modern furniture. White, a classic color for interiors, is typically accented with black and juxtaposed with a shade such as lemon-yellow, apple-green or powder-blue.

Sleek lines, mirrored furniture, and gossamer-sheer fabrics that could just as easily be made into dresses as they could adorn windows beckon us back to a more glamorous era with subtle undertones of Art Deco and 1930's Hollywood.
